As the major R&D and testing base of chemical equipment in the country, the institute runs 22 laboratories and takes control of about 40 major national projects on average annually.

Its major specialized laboratories are in the fields of rubber and plastic machinery, compressor, powder pelletizing, filtration, drying, analytical instrumentation and radioactive instrumentation.

Its main products include SHJ series high-performance twin screw extruder, large three-labyrinth compressor, large paddle dryer, analysis room, sample pretreatment system, MLM ceramic filler, sample pretreatment system and process chromatograph.
