Following the successful industrial application of Hanbang (Jiangyin) Petrochemical Company, the 2.2 million tons/year PTA solvent exchange technology device independently developed and manufactured by Tianhua Research and Design Institute of Chemical Machinery and Automation (hereinafter referred to as Tianhua Institute) in December 2018 has been running steadily for half a year in Jiaxing Petrochemical Company, including washing efficiency, acetic acid loss and other key technologies. The mechanical performances such as technical index and isolator life are better than those of BP-Germany BHS equipment. It achieves overtaking in bends, breaks the dominant situation of BP PTA technology, points the global PTA technology advanced pointer to the Tianhua Academy-Invidia Consortium, and achieves the high-spirited development of Chinese technology in the global PTA industry.

Compared with the traditional process, the technology has obvious advantages: a PTA plant with a scale of 2.2 million tons can save 5.83 kW, 112.72 kg of nitrogen and 87.28 kg of steam per ton of PTA. It can save 18.73 kg of standard coal/t PTA and reduce the discharge of waste water by 1.09 t/t PTA. The economic benefit of saving energy consumption is about 69 million yuan/year, and the investment cost of equipment can be reduced by 40 million yuan, and the operation dimension of equipment can be reduced. The cost of nursing is 4.8 million yuan per year.
As early as more than ten years ago, TIANHUA Institute has started the research on solvent exchange technology. It has conquered CTA solvent exchange model, bias flow, drainage, material optimization of isolation unit, 2205 material welding heat treatment process, and pressure fluctuation reduction device. It has been approved by INVISTA, an international PTA craftsman. At present, it has obtained 14 patents in China, among which 14 patents have been issued.
